Central Bank reports rise in Russia's international reserves

Russia's international reserves amounted to $43.579bn as of July 1, 2002, which was $1.352bn more than a month earlier, the Central Bank's department of external and public relations reported. They increased $6.957bn versus January 1, 2002.

In particular, Russia's currency reserves, which are a part of its international reserves, surged $1.352bn and reached $39.848bn by July 1. Russia's gold reserves within its international reserves remained at the same level of $3.731bn compared to June 1, 2002. As of January 1, 2002, these reserves were at $4.8bn.
