3 billion cubic metres of gas will be delivered to Italy from Russia

The communique distributed on Wednesday by the Italian ENEL company which signed the corresponding conciliatory memorandum with the Russian Gazprom company reported that starting from 2005 and for the period of 20 years 3 billion cubic meters of gas would be delivered from Russia to Italy.

According to the document, implementation of provisions of the agreement would be commenced immediately. It was specially emphasized that the new agreement would be implemented in addition to the existing and running contracts between ENEL and Gazprom.

It is also reported that the strategy of the Italian company stipulates for acquisition in the next 5 years of 18 billion cubic meters of gas from different gas-producing countries.
