11 forest fires in Kamchatka

Eleven forest fires raging in the Kamchatka region cover an aggregate space of more than 4,000 hectares, reported the forest guard service. The biggest fire covering a space of 3,800 hectares was registered by the Mount Lokhmashka, Bystrinsky district.

Over the past eight days, rainless thunderstorms sparked 20-odd forest fires. Two of the fires were registered in Kronotsky Reserve, but those were quickly extinguished by reserve employees.
