Over 1,500 military help to eliminate consequences of flood in Southern Russia

More than 1,500 military, 10 armoured units, 121 tractors, 47 engineering units, and 8 helicopters of the Russian defense ministry are helping to eliminate the consequences of the flood in Southern Russia.

During the previous day, the military evacuated 496 people from the flooded areas, as RIA Novosti learned at the defense ministry's press service. They delivered 302 tons of cargo, 45 tons of which by air. People that suffered in the flood received 81 tons of water, more than 2,000 people were provided with warm food. The engineering units eliminated 3 km of blockages, cleared 82 km of motorways and boosted 140 dams.

An automobile bridge across the Kuban river was restored in the Stavropol region. The restoration of the bridge across the Argun river in Chechnya is under way.
