Vladimir Putin greets participants in constituent session of the World Congress of Russian-Speaking Jews

Vladimir Putin has sent a massage of greetings to the participants in the constituent session of the World Congress of the Russian-Speaking Jews, RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the head of the Russian state.

The message says in part: "Your forum is unique: for the first time you are establishing an organisation of Russian-speaking Jews, of the people belonging to two great cultures - Jewish and Russian. You have set yourselves important large=-scale tasks - to contribute to direct contacts between people, to develop informal, cultural and business relations, to preserve national traditions and to protect the interests of Russian-speaking Jews all over the world. Your initiative is especially important now that the whole world is being united to combat extremism, xenophobia and nationalism which are a nutrient medium for terrorism."
