Security failing at G8 summit

A 134-page secret document detailing the security operations concerning the arrival of each of the G8 leaders at Calgary airport on Tuesday night, was found abandoned in a picnic area near the summit headquarters.

The document, marked “confidential” showed the seating plans inside Tony Blair’s helicopter and had the secret telephone numbers of the Canadian liaison officers responsible for organising the travel plans of each world leader, along with detailed drawings of the meeting rooms, complete with position of windows and seating.

The 134-page document went on to describe, in detail, the itinerary of each of the leaders. It detailed their travel plans, routes, which doors they would use to enter and exit buildings and the names of security personnel protecting each leader.

In view of this serious breach of security, all plans will have been changed. However, with friends like this, Al Qaeda hardly needs enemies.
