Tatneft to produce 24 million tons of oil in 2002

The Tatneft oil company is planning to produce 24.236 million tons of oil in 2002 against 24.6 million tons in 2001. As the press service of the company reported, capital investments will exceed RUR21bn (about $667.79m) in 2002. This year, the volume of drilling operations of Tatneft will be over one million meters. The oil company is also planning to launch 50 gasoline filling stations in 2002. Additionally, the Nizhnekamskshina tire company, of which Tatneft is a majority shareholder (34.72 percent), is to produce 9.78 million tires. The Nizhnekamsk Black Carbon Plant, also owned by Tatneft, is planning to produce 75,000 tons of black carbon.
