Gazprom to increase gas exports

Gazprom is going to increase its exports to far foreign countries by as much as 175 billion cubic meters per year by 2008, deputy CEO of the gas giant Yury Komarov reported at the Gas and Oil 2002 international conference in Moscow today. According to him, Gazprom is also to increase the exports of Turkmen gas up to 34-35 billion cubic meters. As for the balance of interests of Gazprom and independent gas producers in Russia, Komarov pointed out that Gazprom was speaking for an increase in the share of independent gas producers from the current 700 million cubic meters up to 120-125 billion cubic meters per year by 2010. Today, Gazprom's exports to far foreign countries amount to 130 billion cubic meters per year.
