President Putin discussed situation after natural calamity with heads of southern regions

Late in the evening on Tuesday, June 25, president of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed the consequences of natural calamities in a telephone talk with the heads of the regions of southern Russia, the president's press secretary Alexei Gromov said.

Vladimir Putin talked by telephone to chairman of the State Council of Dagestan Magomedali Magomedov, president of Kabardino-Balkaria Valery Kokov, governors of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories Alexander Tkachev and Alexander Chernogorov respectively, presidents of Karachai-Cherkessia Vladimir Semenov, of Adygeya - Khazret Sovmen, and of North Ossetia - Alexander Dzasokhov.

According to Gromov, the heads of the regions of the south of Russia which have suffered from the natural calamities provided the president of the country with detailed information about the damage done by the natural calamities and about the course of the rescue and repair-rehabilitation work, as well as about interaction with the MChS, the Ministry of Defence and other federal departments.

The president stressed the necessity of giving assistance first of all to those who have remained homeless, and of promptly restoring the life-support systems.
