The ninth international exhibition of equipment for the petroleum and gas industry Neftegaz-2002 is to begin today, and will continue until June 28 in the Expocentre exhibition complex at Krasnaya Presnya in Moscow. As the press-service of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation announced, the exhibition was organised by the German firm Messe Dusseldorf GmbH in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Energy.
The exhibition will take up an area of more than 15,000 square metres and will contain the equipment and technology of more than 800 firms and organisations of 28 countries. Participants will present work in the field of petroleum geology and geophysics, equipment for exploitation of oilfields and the construction of oil wells, installations and equipment for the exploiting of oil sources under the sea, and for extracting, processing, and storing petroleum, petroleum products and gas. Also to be exhibited are: technology for the automation of extraction, and preparation of petroleum and gas for transit; protection of the environment and protection of pipelines from corrosion; safety systems and fire-fighting equipment; new chemical materials and processes in the petroleum industry, and modern technology for geological investigation.
