Where does the confiscated caviar go?

Fish poachers have caused damage to the Volgograd region to the sum of 1.5 million rubles over just five months of the current year. Law-enforcement bodies of the region have solved 352 cases connected with illegal fishing. Several law-enforcement officers were detained for bribery, and twelve tons of sturgeon were confiscated. Seventy-seven kilos of caviar became the catch of the Volgograd police.

The confiscated fish were handed over to fish-packing and processing factories of the region; however, it was decided to destroy the caviar. Those factories that buy fish refuse to buy caviar. As was reported, a very expensive vet examination is required before processing caviar, which makes it unprofitable for enterprises to buy 77 kilos of caviar.

Such things happen over and over again every year. However, I have never seen a person in my life who would tell me that the confiscated caviar was destroyed or wasted, not to mention the fact that such procedures must be performed in the presence of a special committee. Therefore, where does the caviar go? This is a big mystery.
