The State Duma /the lower chamber of the Russian legislature/ is highly likely to adopt a draft law on the farm land turnover by the end of 2002. This information has been disclosed on Wednesday by Gennady Seleznyov, the State Duma Speaker, at the St. Petersburg economic forum.
Seleznyov also said that the adoption of this draft law will "clear up legal aspects" of farm land purchase and sale.
The Speaker believes that the farm land turnover law is a "key issue for the Russian economy." "It is specially important for Russian producers," Seleznyov stated.
