According to Andrei Tsygankov, a Deputy Minister of Anti-Trust Policies of the Russian Federation, the International Cooperation in Innovational Entrepreneurship forum will be held in Moscow, June 26 through 28.
The deputy minister said this was among the first projects in Russia of the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. Russia joined the APEC in 1998 yet connections between our country and the other members remained weak. Mr. Tsygankov expressed his hope that 'the Moscow forum at hand may bring actual content into Russia's APEC membership. Russia must enter the markets of the other APEC member countries whose combined populations amount to 2.5 billion, that is, half humanity'.
Mr. Tsygankov also said the establishing of cooperation between Russia and the countries of the Pacific region and Latin America was what President Putin had said was our objective after he had come back from the APEC's business summit in Shanghai in October 2001.
