Head of Alfa Bank predicts investment boom in Russia

Russia is facing an investment boom, Mikhail Fridman, chairman of the board of directors of Alfa Bank, declared at today's meeting with a delegation of French businessmen. Russia is in the epicenter of investment expectations. Russia's macroeconomic characteristics are better than those of other countries, he stressed. Fridman pointed out that the capitalization of the Russian stock market had become thrice as much as it was two years ago compared to a 30 percent advance of other emerging stock markets. This fact contributes to the investment attractiveness of Russia, the businessman believes.

Moreover, foreign policy of the Russian authorities, problems on the world oil market, the crises in Argentina, scandals with corporate governance in the USA are the factors that will reorient foreign investors to the Russian market. "All these factors promote a growth of interest in the Russian market and we have the right to get ready for investments of foreign participants in the Russian economy", the head of Alfa Bank pointed out.
