International trade fair opened in Harbin, China

A traditional trade fair was opened on Saturday in the Chinese town of Harbin, the Heilongjiang province bordering on the southern part of the Far Eastern Russia. The fair is being held with the participation of Konstantin Pulikovsky, the presidential plenipotentiary representative in the Far Eastern district, delegations from most Russia's Far Eastern regions, businessmen and the district's enterprises, which proves the significance of the event for the development of Russian-Chinese trade relations.

A large exposition presents goods and technologies produced and developed in the Russian Far East, Evgeny Anoshin, the press secretary of the presidential representative to the Far Eastern district, has been quoted as saying.

Statistically, China is becoming Far East's leading trade partner competing with Japan and South Korea.

The Russian Vneshtorgbank bank also plays an important role in the development of Russo-Chinese business relations. To finance Russian companies in business with China, the bank has opened documentary lines for Chinese banks for more than 15 mln. dollars. In addition, Vneshtorgbank has signed with the Import-Export Bank of China a 500-million dollar agreement for 5 years.
