Forest fires in Russia's Far East

As of today, 49 forest fires are burning on the territory of Russia's Far Eastern Federal District.

The biggest number of fires -- 32 -- are raging in Sakha /Yakutia/. More fires were reported from the Khabarovsk territory and the Amur region: yesterday, their number was 7 and 4 accordingly, today, it has reached 9 and 8.

The firefighting effort involves heavy-duty equipment and aviation. In all, fires cover an aggregate area of 373,273 hectares.
