Fragments of WWII Cobra warplanes delivered to Vladivostok

On Thursday, the motor ship Krymsky arrived in Vladivostok from the South Kurils, bearing fragments of US warplanes that the Japanese had brought down during the Second World War.

According to the Far Eastern Customs Office, the fragments of Cobra warplanes "have a historical value only for collectors and relatives of the dead pilots." The fragments will be shipped to Moscow and then forwarded to the USA.

Primorye customs, border guards and police have dismissed media reports saying three US airplanes of the Second World War period were arrested in Vladivostok during an attempt to illegally ship them off to the USA.
