ALROSA to organize jewelry enterprise in Orel region

ALROSA's delegation took part in the 6th 'Orel-2002' conference that gathered together potential investors in the regional economy. The delegation met with Yegor Stroyev, governor of the Orel region. During the meeting the parties signed an agreement on cooperation between the company and the regional administration. The document envisages the construction of a jewelry producing enterprise by the end of 2003 with an annual production output of up to $2.3m. Moreover, a network of jewelry shops is to be organized. ALROSA President Vladimir Kalitin and Yegor Stroyev, governor of the Orel region, signed the agreement.

The company's delegation visited the city's textile plant Raduga. ALROSA spends about 35m to 40m rubles ($1.11m-1.27m) annually on purchasing work clothing. So in the future the company may start cooperating with Raduga.
