In Kyrgyzstan, anti-presidential opposition went mad

Anti-presidential opposition started its destructive actions after a short break again. In particular, deputy Azimbek Beknazarov’s followers (his arrest caused trouble in the south of the republic of Kyrgyzstan) tried to block the strategically important highway, which connected the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, with the town of Osh.

The leaders of the picketers went on hunger strike, and when local government representatives came to them with doctors, they even seized them as hostages. The highway remained blocked despite all attempts to agree upon something. Everyone, who tried to negotiate with picketers, were astounded wither their aggressiveness. They fought with police officers, who tried to make them leave the road, they even caused bodily injury to some of them. Home Ministry representatives claimed that police officers did not show any tough resistance to hooligans’ attacks. The latter took their IDs, communication means and even money away. The official government estimated those actions as the opposition’s unwillingness to conduct the dialogue for the sake of their only goal – to make Kyrgyzstan President Askar Akayev resign.
