International security forum in Moscow

The international forum "Topical Issues of International Security Provision" opened in Moscow. The forum is chaired by Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo.

Vladimir Rushailo's colleagues from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Security Council Secretary representatives from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, the heads of ministries, departments, scientific and international organisations are participating in the forum. The Indian Prime Minister's National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra is also expected at the forum.

"Escalation of new threats and challenges determined the format of the forum," Vladimir Rushailo said in his opening speech. He expressed hopes that in the course of the forum joint measures for the provision of security to the participating countries will be worked out.

Terrorism is the main threat in today's world, Vladimir Rushailo said. He recalled, that Russia was one of the first countries to encounter with the terrorism. The Russian Security Council Secretary noted, that the dramatic events of September 11th "made the international community think seriously of how to fight the 'black international' of terrorism.
