More attacks on federal officials in Russia

On Thursday, an unidentified assailant threw an RGD-5 grenade onto the roof of a house occupied by Maslov, the administration head of the town of Galich, Central Russia's Kostroma region, reported the local interior office by telephone. Luckily, no one was hurt. Law enforcers are trying to track down the assailant.

In Veliky Novgorod, an attacker fired a shot at Lyubov Andreyeva, a federal inspector from the office of the Russian president's plenipotentiary to the Northwestern Federal District. The woman was attacked at the entrance to an apartment building on the night of May 31st. Luckily, she wasn't hurt either. The assailant escaped. Police are investigating his motives. The main version is that the attack was somehow prompted by Andreyeva's work at the plenipotentiary's office.
