Russian President Vladimir Putin will have another meeting with members of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on Thursday, May 23rd. RIA Novosti was told about it by the President's press secretary Alexei Gromov. As was pointed out by a source from the Union in the conversation with a RIA Novosti correspondent, the entrepreneurs will give the President a list of proposals whose implementation will make it possible, they believed, to achieve an eight-percent economic growth in the country. The businessmen propose "to fix in the legalisation a greater number of direct action norms." The income tax is an example of the efficiency of the operation of such a norm. Apart from that, the entrepreneurs propose to resolve in the court of arbitration such important issues for the development of the country as tariffs and the liberalisation of the hard currency market, and in this case the President himself should play the role of a judge. The source said: "The supporters and opponents of the changes will express their views, and Vladimir Putin will either use his own discretion in taking a decision or will postpone the discussed issue till better times." According to the spokesman for the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, at the Kremlin meeting the Union's members intend to propose "a new form of the work of business and the authorities. "We shall propose that the President should choose several most important problems, the solution of which will allow the economy to develop more dynamically," said the source. After choosing the problems, the next step, in the opinion of the Union's representative, should be fixing the dates of their solution and appointing state officials responsible for this. "The businessmen are ready both to offer their assistance and to share the responsibility for the fulfilment of the presidential instructions," pointed out the Union's representative. The entrepreneurs are also ready to propose to reduce the apparatus of state officials and the expenditures on its maintenance.
