Russian, chinese energy systems to be restructured by similar methods

The energy systems of Russia and China are expected to be restructured using similar methods. This was disclosed by chairman of the board of RAO UES of Russia Anatoly Chubais upon his arrival in Khabarovsk (Russia's Far East) Friday. Chubais noted that basic ideas of energy restructuring in the two countries coincide. Thus, according to him, in the course of reforms it is planned to separate competitive and monopoly business sectors. The competitive sector should, in the final count, provide for market relations aimed at lowering tariffs on electric power. Chubais noted that over the past five years the energy sector is being transformed in the whole world. According to him, RAO UES plans to start restructuring the electric-power sector in the near future.
