G8 unite against paedophiles

Representatives of the G8 countries meet in Canada to prepare a joint data base in which records of convicted paedophiles will be stored.

Representatives of the eight most industrialised nations (the Russian Federation, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Japan) are preparing a joint data base which will give each other access to the identities of convicted paedophiles.

At the meeting being held in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, the preparations are under way to adjust national legislation on confidentiality of personal data which will make it possible to reveal details of a person’s previous criminal record.

In December, the EU will reveal the results of a study on international data bases in preparation for the same agenda.

Certain tourist operators openly foment paedophile practices by catering for the whims and fantasies of these criminals, providing holidays during which the client is presented with children for sexual purposes. These holidays, called “sexual tourism” are organised in close collaboration with local authorities, which turn a blind eye to the activity in return for a pay-out.

Apart from the Far East (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam), sexual tourism also takes place in South America. In Brazil’s impoverished north-east, for example, Italian tour operators provide such holidays for their clients in the city of Fortaleza. Children are rented by the hour or by the day to the tourists in return for sexual favours.

Exploitation of the defenceless, causing psychological wounds which will never heal, is the lowest a human being can stoop. hen those in a position of trust or authority, such as monitors in holiday camps, priests or teachers, use and abuse their position for purposes of exploitation, the crime is that much more intolerable.
