56 villages across Russia partially flooded

As of today, the spring flood has partially submerged buildings in 56 villages across Russia. In all, the number of flooded dwelling-houses has reached 1,822. Of their 8,483 inhabitants, 354 have been evacuated, reported the press service of the Russian emergencies ministry on Tuesday. In the Sverdlovsk region /the Urals/, water has flooded a timber mill, 3.6 kilometres of railway bed, 7 bridges and almost 11 kilometres of highways, and still keeps rising. 65 dwelling-houses were partially submerged in water in the Novosibirsk region, Siberia. In the Tyumen region, water flooded 32 bridges and almost 50 kilometres of highways, and cut off 56 villages. Rivers in the Kirov region, Volga Federal District, have cleared of ice, but 666 dwelling-houses still remain submerged. Flooded buildings still remain in the Orenburg /south of the Urals/, Kurgan and Chelyabinsk /Urals Federal District/ regions.
