Government submits bills on reforms in energy industry to State Duma

A set of government bills aimed at reforming Russia's energy industry has been submitted to the State Duma, the lower house's Press Service reported to RBC. The set consists of 5 bills dealing with the electrical power industry and natural monopolies. Additionally, the bills include amendments to Part 2 of the Civil Code, regulating provision of services for users connected to grids that do not belong to electrical power suppliers, as well as amendments to the Law on Energy Saving. A meeting of the State Duma Council to select parliamentary committees to prepare these bills for the first reading will be held on May 14. Duma First Deputy Chairperson Lyubov Sliska will hold talks with chairmen of Duma committees to discuss these and other initiatives of the government.
