EurAsEc session in Kremlin to discuss draft principles of border policy

The agenda of a summit session of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community underway in the Kremlin includes some 20 issues. Sources in the Russian delegation have reported that, in particular, draft principles of the border policy of the EurAsEC member states and the improvement of cooperation between the EurAsEC members in negotiating their accession to the World Trade Organisation will be considered. In addition to that, the agenda includes an issue to work out a mechanism for the protection of domestic markets of the EurAsEC member states provided that they do not use special protective, anti-dumping and compensatory measures in trade. The course of implementation of internal procedures necessary to fulfil international treaties signed within the framework of the Customs Union and the EurAsEC will also be discussed. Attention will also be paid to organisational issues, in particular, concerning the procedure of admitting new members, the status of an observer at the EurAsEC, the symbols of the Community, the chairman of the EurAsEC integration committee and the next summit session of the Interstate Council of the Community.
