Brazil: Violence denounced by UNESCO

A UNESCO report demonstrates that the violence in Brazil is only surpassed by Colombia, which is a disgrace for the decades of centre/right Brazilian governments after decades of corrupt and ineffective rule, which has seem five per cent of Brazil’s 180 million population owning 95% of the country’s resources.

The number of violent deaths in Brazil is surpassed only by Columbia, according to the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) report, which claims that the main victims are younger males aged between 15 and 24 years of age.

60 countries were compared in the report, in which the rate of violent deaths per 100,000 population was quoted as 60 in Columbia, 26.3 per 100,000 in Brazil and 23 per 100,000 in the Russian Federation.
