Bush's Moscow visit to yield economy, energy statements

Bilateral statements are set to be endorsed during President Bush's visit to Moscow later this month on the development of trade and economic cooperation and energy dialogue, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said in remarks after a meeting with US Commerce Secretary Donald Evans, carried by RIA Novosti. "These issues were the center of attention at my talks with Evans," Ivanov said. Commenting on the proposed lifting of the Jackson-Vanik amendment, he pointed out that "here, it's up to the United States." "Our position is well known and it is important at this point that US Congress make an appropriate decision," he pronounced.
