The head of the Russian financial intelligence will pay a visit to Washington

Russian First Deputy Finance Minister, Chairman of the Committee for Financial Monitoring Viktor Zubkov on Thursday will arrive in Washington. RIA Novosti was told about it in the Russian Embassy in Washington. According to the programme of the visit, which will last till Saturday, Viktor Zubkov will have meetings in the Treasury and the Department of Justice. It is expected that the head of the Russian financial intelligence will take part in the work of the juridical committee of the Egmont Group in Washington. According to some data, Viktor Zubkov will speak about the activity of his Committee for Financial Monitoring and submit for the consideration of the juridical committee of the Egmont Group the question of Russia's entry into this organisation. The Egmont Group, whose members are fifty-eight countries, is an international organisation of financial intelligence bodies. A possible decision on Russia's entry into the Egmont, one of whose guarantors is the United States, will be considered at the Group's session in Monaco on June 4-5, 2002.
