Forced migrants returning to Chechnya

More than 3,000 forced immigrants have returned to Chechnya from Ingushetia (North-Caucasus republic bordering on Georgia) during the last two months, said Russia's Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov. Last winter no anti-governmental meeting or demonstration has been registered in the temporary migrants' colonies, the minister stated. Besides, he pointed out that two check-ups of the representatives in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe have been successful. Those who made the check-ups said this was thanks to the fact that migration problems had become the Interior Ministry's responsibility. Boris Gryzlov also said that four hostels for migrants had been opened in Grozny.
