French doctors to discuss the problem o AIDS with their Russian colleagues

The first Russian-French conference on “Actual problems of HIV/AIDS and associated infections” began it work at Irkutsk State Medical Institute. The conference is carried out in the framework of the schedule of the cooperation between Irkutsk State Medical University and Medical Faculty of Grenoble University (France) with the assistance of the Heath Committee and Centre Anti-AIDS. Leading French specialists in problems of AIDS arrived in the Siberian city of Irkutsk. They have great experience in struggle against AIDS: AIDS patients in France can live for 15 years average, in Russia they seldom live more than 4 years. French specialists brought new technologies for treatment and diagnostics. There are more than 9 thousand HIV-infected patients in Irkustsk region and therefore experience of foreign specialists is very important for the region.
