Putin Receives WWII Veterans In Kremlin

The present-day Russian generation must preserve global strategic stability, also preventing the spread of local conflicts; as a matter of fact, this constitutes its main task. This was stated here today by President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation at an official reception in honor of the 56-th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War at the Grand Kremlin Palace. The Russian President hailed war veterans from Russia, CIS countries and other countries of the world, thanking them for their feats and congratulating them on VE-Day. Heroic feats have no prescription period, Putin stressed. In his words, every Russian will remember the feats of courage that were performed in Brest, Stalingrad and Kaliningrad centuries from now; the people of Russia will also recall heroic feats during the battle of the Kursk bulge and during the final invasion of Berlin, he added. We must love and defend our Motherland the way you, veterans, did, Putin noted. Putin suggested drinking to victorious soldiers, to war veterans and to Russia's might and prosperity.
