Governor Of Kemerovo Region Officially Took Office

At the formal session of the regional council of deputies on Friday governor of the Kemerovo Region (Southern Siberia) Aman Tuleyev officially took office. He took the oath, swearing to serve on the post of governor to the benefit of Russia, Kuzbass and its inhabitants. In the speech he made during the inauguration Aman Tuleyev stated, in particular, that "today we have a team capable of working fruitfully". He noted that "great work is in store for all of us. It is necessary to complete what was begun and to go further". According to the official results of the April 22 gubernatorial elections, Tuleyev won in them nearly 94 per cent of the vote, turnout being more than 52 per cent.
