Fool’s May Day in Irkutsk

The People’s party of Fools has held Mayday festivities in the Siberian city of Irkutsk under the slogan “Fools of all the world, unite”. Competitions and prizes, performing actors and musicians, and also a discotheque attracted crowds of youth to the Angara river embankment. Informal Mayday festivities have also been organized by Oleg Yermolovich, an actor at the local Pilgrim Theatre, dubbed Petrovich after his patronymic, who is also called the Party of Fools’ “secretary genial,” according to RIA Novosti. Incidentally, he has arranged a “non-pilot” issue of the newspaper Nepravda (Untruth). Mr. Yermolovich says in the paper that he is preparing to put on stage Gogol’s The Madman’s Notes with himself playing the title role.
