Fuel Supplies To Kamchatka Resumed

Fuel supplies to the Kamchatka region will be continued, the press service of the Kamchatskenergo reported today. According to preliminary information, a Beryozovo tanker with a tonnage equal to 15,000 tons is supposed to be loaded in Nakhodka today. Fuel supplies were resumed as the energy company had paid for 25,000 tons of black oil received in April. This became possible with a help of RAO Unified Energy Systems of Russia. The latter made the Defense Ministry pay 160m rubles (about $5.55m) for federal energy consumers. In addition, the Kamchatka regional administration managed to collect and pay 40m rubles (about $1.39m) to the Rosneft oil company. However, the threat of the energy crisis still remains. Rosneft announced that it will further supply the region with black oil only if two requirements are met. First of all, all current supplies and the already existing indebtedness which exceeds 1bn rubles (about $34.7m) are to be paid in full by June 1. At the same time, taking into consideration problems with fuel supplies, energy producers won't resume heat and hot water supplies to debtors. Kamchatskenergo refused to meet the wishes of the Kamchatka regional governor and supply the people with heat and warm water during the upcoming holidays.
