A congress of ethnic Russians living outside Russia will be held in Moscow in late September or early October, announced Vice-Premier Viktor Khristenko. He told newsmen that the government had agreed upon all the monetary avenues for compatriots-these are education, culture, support for Russian-language mass media, welfare and recreation for children. In all, the sum allocated for 2001 is 90.2 million roubles. Now Russian representative offices and embassies abroad will be mobilised for compatriot support.
After it turned out that Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov included the Fonbet betting company in the list of backbone enterprises that can count on state support, everyone started talking about these bookmakers.
