Last night, a deafening explosion went off in the building of the Russian Interior Ministry's Department for Combating the Organised Crime based in Gudermes. Four injured persons were found in the debris. According to the preliminary information, nobody died. The debris are being cleared, and rescuers are looking for the people who might have been be trapped in the rubble. The investigation is going on. This is not the first terrorist act against the staff-members of the Department for Combating Organised Crime in Chechnya. The latest successes of this Department in finding and detaining the heads of armed units have impacted on Chechen extremists and aroused a fit of resistance on their part.
