Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and Gabon's Foreign Minister Jean Ping have set to discussing practical issues of bilateral cooperation and swapping opinions on international challenges. In his opening speech, the Russian foreign minister remarked that Moscow attaches great importance to the official visit by Gabon's President Omar Bongo to Russia. The minister stressed that the Tuesday meeting of the two leaders had given a real motor for establishing bilateral cooperation. In turn, Gabon's foreign minister indicated that his country's leadership highly valued the relations with Russia and coordination of approaches to the issues currently at stake in the world.
