Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak To Visit Moscow

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak is to make an official visit to Moscow on April 26-28, Russia's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. The aircraft with the Egyptian head of state will arrive at Moscow's Vnukovo-2 airport on Thursday, while the working part of the visit will begin on Friday morning. On that day Mubarak will meet with Federation Council speaker Yegor Stroyev. On Friday, President Mubarak is scheduled to be received by Russian President Vladimir Putin. There will also be his meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov. Then Mubarak will have talks with Russia's Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov. On Saturday, April 28, the President of Egypt will meet with Sergei Lebedev, director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, and Security Council secretary Vladimir Rushailo. On the same day Mubarak will visit the Khrunichev State Scientific and Production Space Centre. Later on Saturday the Egyptian President will leave the Russian capital. Egypt's news agency MENA described Mubarak's coming visit to Moscow as "the beginning of a new stage in relations between the two countries". During the visit the Russian and Egyptian presidents are expected to conclude a treaty of mutual understanding, trust, and relations of friendship and cooperation. A second important document to be signed in Moscow and to define relations between the two friendly countries for years ahead is a long-term programme of development of trade, economic, industrial, scientific and technological cooperation between Russia and Egypt.
