Russian Prime Minister: Intensification Of Russia's Contacts With European Countries Does Not Mean Cooling Of Relations With USA

The intensification of Russia's contacts and cooperation with the European countries which has recently begun taking shape, does not mean that our relations with the USA have become cooler, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov in Stockholm. "We do not want our relations with the United States to become cooler, particularly since processes are under way there now which need to be stabilized," stressed the Russian premier. Kasyanov noted that since Russia is part of Europe, Moscow's striving to cooperate closer with its "geographical neighbours" is not surprising at all. All the more so since Russia has not been fully using its potential in the relations with the European states of late," said Kasyanov.
