President Of Egypt To Arrive In Moscow On Official Visit On April 27

On Friday, April 27, president of Egypt Hosni Mubarak will arrive in Moscow on an official visit, deputy head of the Kremlin Staff Sergei Prikhodko told RIA Novosti on Monday. According to him, Russian-Egyptian negotiations in a narrow and expanded format will be held on Friday, and a formal reception on behalf of Vladimir Putin in honour of the Egyptian president will be held in the Kremlin. Prikhodko announced that in the course of his two-day visit Hosni Mubarak will meet with prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov, foreign minister Igor Ivanov, Security Council secretary Vladimir Rushailo, speaker of the Federation Council (the upper house of parliament) Yegor Stroyev, and will visit the Khrunichev scientific-production centre. Prikhodko reported that bilateral economic projects, including the purchase by Egypt of Russian Tupolev Tu-204 planes, and the situation in the Middle East will be discussed during the visit of the Egyptian president to Moscow. Informed sources told RIA Novosti that Vladimir Putin was going to visit this country. However, according to the source, it was impossible to visit Egypt and at the same time not to visit Palestine and Israel since the balance would be upset. The source also noted that "at the present time the visit of the Russian president to Palestine and Israel cannot take place for clear reasons." According to the interlocutor, Hosni Mubarak agreed with this stance of Moscow and accepted the invitation to visit Russia.
