US President George Bush wants to meet Vladimir Putin "as soon as possible and to establish personal contact" with him. As the RIA Novosti correspondent reports, former President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev stated this after his Monday meeting with the US President. According to him, Bush "hopes that a good climate of cooperation will be in our relations". The ex-President of the USSR said that he had conveyed to the US President the words of greeting from Vladimir Putin whom he had met on the eve of his trip to the USA. As Gorbachev said, George Bush admitted that there are no great differences between Russia and the USA. George Bush hopes that Russian-American relations will be those of partnership in the interests of the two countries, Mikhail Gorbachev said.
