Gabon President's Russian Visit Carries "Political Load" - Kremlin

The visit of the president of Gabon, who arrived in the Russian capital Monday, "carries political load", RIA Novosti quoted deputy chief of the Kremlin administration Sergei Prikhodko as saying with regard to the talks between Vladimir Putin and Omar Bongo due on Tuesday. The talks are expected to bring forth a Russian-Gabonese declaration, as well as a protocol on consultations between the two countries' foreign ministries. Russian-Gabonese relations have bright prospects, believes Prikhodko. The Kremlin deputy chief of staff said that the Russian president "has an intention to visit a number of African countries". According to Prikhodko, Vladimir Putin has been invited to South Africa, Guinea, Nigeria and other countries of Africa. "Work is under way to develop trade-economic and political contacts with African countries, after which a suitable moment will be chosen to make this trip rich in content, but just tourist", said Sergei Prikhodko.
