Russia's President To Meet With UN Secretary General In May

The work plan of Russian President Vladimir Putin envisages a series of important international get-togethers. Early in May, the Russian head of state will hold talks with Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov, who is to arrive to Moscow on an official visit. On May 15, a meeting will be held in Moscow between Vladimir Putin and United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan. On May 17 a Russia-European Union summit will take place in Moscow. On May 24 through 25, President Putin will go to Armenia's capital city of Yerevan where he will participate in a sitting of the Collective Security Council of countries members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. On June 1, the Russian president will fly to Minsk, capital of Belarus, to participate in a summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States and on June 15 to Shanghai, China, for the fifth session of the Shanghai Forum. French President Jacques Chirac is expected to arrive in Moscow on an official visit in early July. On July 20 through 22, the Russian leader will be taking part in a G8 summit meeting in Genoa, Italy.
