There are about 250 Chinese nationals in the Russian town of Ulianovsk now. Approximately 220 of them do not have documents to identify themselves, or have their visas expired. Some of them arrived in Russia illegally. The majority of the Chinese in Ulianovsk are involved in trade in local markets. Many of them do not have special licences. 58 Chinese citizens were sent out of the town last year.
