Rostov Nuclear Power Station produced 115 mln kilowatt-hours

Rostov Nuclear Power Station, which functioned in the standby-operation condition from the beginning of April and which had been connected to the Russian Integral Power Supply System, produced 115 mln kilowatt-hours, the press-center of the "Rosenergoatom" concern reported on Tuesday. "Energy unit N1, which is being put into operation, undergoes dynamic tests on the level of 50% of its nominal power. The reactor functions at 50% of the heat power and the electric power of the turbo-generator amounts at 450 megawatts. There are no infringements in exploitation safety", the press-center reported. According to the statistics from April 17 of the current year, level of radiation within 30 kilometers of the nuclear power station conforms to the natural level of radiation typical for the region, Rostov Nuclear Power Station experts on radiation stressed. It is planned to put the power station into full operation in October 2001. This year Rostov Nuclear Power Station is planning to add 3bln kilowatt-hours to the total volume of energy produced by the other 9 Russian Nuclear Power Stations, experts remarked.
