Russian company insured risks of Tianwan nuclear power station in China

The Russian MAKS insurance company insured the construction of the Tianwan nuclear power station in China against some of the risks, a RIA Novosti correspondent was told in the press-centre of the company on Tuesday. Company officials explained that MAKS and the Atomstroyexport company had signed an agreement on property insurance until the completion of the delivery and insurance of Russian specialists, that take part in the construction, against industrial accidents. Nuclear and property insurance of fuel, delivered to the Tianwan station by Atomstroyexport, is under discussion. According to head of the MAKS department of nuclear risk and high-risk production projects Dmitry Voronov, the company's responsibility limit on the property insurance accounts for 110 per cent of the cost of cargo, with maximum payments on each of 1200 insured specialists, not exceeding 10 thousand US dollars. The MAKS insurance company was founded on March 13, 1992. It offers insurance against 58 types of risks and has 18 subsidiaries and 47 branch offices.
