Russian nuclear peaceful technologies are in great demand in the world

Russian nuclear peaceful technologies are in great demand in the world, Alexander Rumyantsev, head of the Russian Atomic Ministry, told journalists on Tuesday. "Currently Russian specialists render assistance in the construction or reconstruction of nuclear power plants (NPP) or their separate energy blocks in a number of countries, for example, in China, Iran, India, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Czechia," he said. At the same time, the minister admitted that Russian specialists have to work in conditions of tough competition from Western companies in terms of the aforementioned works and in the delivery of Russian nuclear fuel to a number of foreign NPPs. In this sense "we have lost" Finland and feel penetration of Western nuclear technologies to the Ukrainian NPPs, Mr Rumyantsev noted. The minister also noted that in the course of construction of energy blocks at the Boucher NPP in Iran "we constantly feel the U.S. pressure." "We operate there in accordance with the intergovernmental agreements generally accepted in the world practice of business cooperation between different countries. We do not commit any violations of the international law," Mr Rumyantsev stressed. According to him, among the new developments of the Russian Atomic Ministry accelerating technologies are also very popular abroad. "We have already delivered four nuclear accelerators to China and South Korea, and an agreement to deliver four accelerators to the USA has been signed," Mr Rumyantsev reported.
