Duma deputies reach agreement to set up council of four centrist factions of Russia

Duma deputies have reached an agreement to set up a coordinative council of four centrist associations in the State Duma (parliament's lower house), with the subsequent prospect of forming an inter-faction coalition. This was announced by Yevgeny Primakov, leader of the Fatherland-All Russia faction in the Duma, after a session in which leaders of some other factions also took part. The participants in the session included (apart from Yevgeny Primakov) Vladimir Pekhtin, leader of the Unity faction; Gennady Raikov, leader of the People's Deputy group, and Oleg Morozov, leader of the Russia's Regions group. Yevgeny Primakov stressed that these four groups had much in common. It is a matter of forming a coordinative council now, he said in conclusion.
